Welcome

This website is a plea to federal civil servants to save our republic, our constitution and our decency. Yes, we know the public is often unappreciative of your dedication and hard work. You've been called "faceless bureaucrats" and worse. We may not deserve your help and the risk to your careers and lives such help implies. Nevertheless, we're out here legally communicating with you. And you know very well if there is martial law, we will be singled out for retribution.

We don't assert we know martial law will occur. Those who would declare it would need an excuse. Nevertheless, evidence suggests a reasonable person should be very concerned about the preparations for a permanent police state. You can come forward anonymously, like "deep throat" or publicly like Dan Ellsberg. Do not expect to necessarily be as fortunate as Ellsberg.

Look within your heart, and if you decide patriotism means enough, come take your place in history.

"We live in oppressive times. We have, as a nation, become our own thought police; but instead of calling the process by which we limit our expression of dissent and wonder "censorship," we call it "concern for commercial viability."  ~  David Mamet
  Tips For Whistleblowers

A Concise Set of Advice for Potential Whistleblowers

1. Don’t talk to anyone at work about it. Especially your boss.

2. Consider providing information anonymously. It’s called “over the transom”. Be sure no saliva or fingerprints are on what you send. Use a photocopy machine from a community you rarely frequent. Pay with cash. If you send an official document, the investigator can find the part of the government which issued the document and confirm it’s existence.

3. If you are willing to contact a member of the press, make sure they are real investigative journalists, rather than personal friends of those in power.

4. Wikileaks is worth considering.

5. You are allowed to contact your congressmember. We advise approaching the investigative staff for both house and senate committees such as:
• Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (Chairman Levin)
199 Senate Russell Building, Washington, DC 20510
• U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism,
Technology and Homeland Security(Chairwoman Feinstein)
224 Dirksen Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510
Majority Office 202-224-4933
• United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform(Chairman Waxman)
Mailing Address:2157 RHOB Washington, DC 20515-6143
Telephone:(202) 225-5051
• United States House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security (Chairman Scott)
Mailing Address:B370 RHOB Washington, DC 20515-6223
Telephone:(202) 225-5727
• Committee on Homeland Security (Chairman Thompson)
Mailing Address:H2-176 FHOB Washington, DC 20515-6480
Telephone:(202) 226-2616

Also, Charles Grassley (R-IA) received a lifetime achievement award on May 17,2007 from the National Whistleblower Center. His chief of staff should point you to the correct committee staffer.

Call before you send anything because of the following advice from EFF (Electronic Freedom Foundation):

Why to Not Send Postal Letters Anymore
Because of the post-9/11 security issues, it can take up to THREE MONTHS for postal mail and package delivery services to get through to legislators and their staffs. All incoming mail and parcels are subjected to thorough analysis for bombs, poisons and biological agents like anthrax. This means that sending physical letters is, in 2002 and for the forseeable future, practically useless for activism purposes.

Wikileaks
A place for journalists, truth tellers and everybody else; global defense of sources and press freedoms, circa now.

Police State America - A Look Back and Ahead
Name: Steve Lendman I was born in 1934 in Boston, MA. Raised in a modest middle class family, attended public schools, received a BA from Harvard University in 1956 and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of PA in 1960 following 2 years of obligatory military service in the US Army. Spent the next 6 years as a marketing research analyst for several large US corporations before becoming part of a new small family business in 1967, remaining there until retiring at the end of 1999. Have since devoted my time and efforts to the progressive causes and organizations I support, all involved in working for a more humane and just world for all people everywhere, but especially for the most needy, disadvantaged and oppressed. My efforts since summer 2005 have included writing on a broad range of vital topics ranging from war and peace; social, economic and political equity for all; and justice for all the oppressed peoples of the world like the long-suffering people of Haiti and the Palestinians. Also co-hosting The Global Research News Hour, occasional public talks, and frequent appearances on radio and at times television.

Police State America - A Look Back and Ahead
by Stephen Lendman
http://sjlendman.blogspot.com/2007/12/police-state-america-look-back-and.html

Year end is a good time to look back and reflect on what's ahead. If past is prologue, however, the outlook isn't good, and nothing on the horizon suggests otherwise. Voters last November wanted change but got betrayal from the bipartisan criminal class in Washington. Their attitude shows in an October Reuters/Zogby (RZ) opinion poll with George Bush at 24% that tops Richard Nixon's worst showing of 25% at his lowest 1974 Watergate point. And if that looks bad, consider Congress with "The Hill" reporting from the same RZ Index that our legislators scored a "staggering 11%, the lowest (congressional) rating in history," but there's room yet to hit bottom and a year left to do it. Why not with lawmakers' consistent voter sellout and failure record that keeps getting worse.

"They’re locking them up today
They’re throwing away the key
I wonder who it’ll be tomorrow, you or me?"
~ The Red Telephone (LOVE, 1967)

At Christmas time it has been my habit to write a column in remembrance of the many innocent people in prisons whose lives have been stolen by the US criminal justice (sic) system that is as inhumane as it is indifferent to justice. Usually I retell the cases of William Strong and Christophe Gaynor, two men framed in the state of Virginia by prosecutors and judges as wicked and corrupt as any who served Hitler or Stalin.

Bush makes power grab
Corsi was a significant force in securing Bush's reelection with his Swiftboating efforts. Thus his criticism of Presidential Directive 51 means more than if it came from a traditional critic of Bush.

President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.

The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive," with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator.

Editor\'s Note: Six years ago on another Veterans Day holiday, eight news organizations published the findings of their unofficial recount of Florida\'s disputed ballots. The recount had discovered that Al Gore would have won the decisive Florida election if all legally cast votes were counted.

However, just two months after the 9/11 attacks, the news organizations chose to conceal the obvious \"Gore Won\" lead, apparently putting their sense of \"patriotism\" over journalistic professionalism.

Rather than tell already-shaken Americans that the wrong man was in the White House, the big news outlets ? including the New York Times, the Washington Post and CNN ? structured their stories around hypothetical recounts that would have excluded some legal votes and thus still would have resulted in a Bush \"victory.\"

Don\'t Let the Truth Get in the Way of a Bad Crime Story

Polly Toynbee

We live in extraordinary times: theft is down, so is violence. But sensation-seeking media fuel fear and distort priorities

Great lies, bold, bare-faced and unapologetic, are relayed every day by every orifice of the media in ways that would make Kim Jong-il proud. A malign conspiracy manufactures the myth that crime is out of control, soaring proof of David Cameron\'s \"broken society\". It\'s a falsity that fools most of the people all of the time.

DAN RATHER: TASED AND CONFUSED

The Still-Unreported Story of "Top Gun" George Bush

Greg Palast
Monday September 24, 2007

New York- Newly unearthed records reveal that, in 2004, when Americans were in the midst of a brutal electoral battle over whether to reelect a president posing as a war hero, a commanding US reporter, Dan Rather, went AWOL.

Just three months before the election, Rather had a story that might have changed the outcome of that razor-close race. We now know that Dan cut a back-room deal to shut his mouth, grab his ankles, and let his network retract a story he knew to be absolutely true.

Fake Terror -- The Road to War and Dictatorship

It's the oldest trick in the book, dating back to Roman times; creating the enemies you need.
"The state-sponsored schools will never tell you this, but governments routinely rely on hoaxes to sell their agendas to an otherwise reluctant public. The Romans accepted the Emperors and the Germans accepted Hitler not because they wanted to, but because the carefully crafted illusions of threat appeared to leave no other choice.

Our government too uses hoaxes to create the illusion that We The People have no choice but the direction the government wishes us to go in."
Excellent retrospective on governmental creation and abuse of terror from the Roman despot Crassus up to the headlines today. For a crash course in official betrayal, click here." An introduction to the article follows.
